'My Life'--the musical

  • Total weight lost: 22 lbs.

My aunt just sent me a video link that I absolutely love!  I could swear this woman has been spying on my life.  And for her efforts?  She gets a standing ovation and I get rolling eyes and dirty laundry.  I definitely need a new agent.  Here's the link:

If you got the link from me in an e-mail, too...what the heck, just watch it again, it's worth it.

Not all that much going on the past few days.  I watched another episode of 'The Unit', and now it's all making sense, and I understand what happened at the end of last year and what's been going on in these last two eps.  Don't know if I could explain it to anyone, but it makes sense in my head.  Mack was really cold to Tiffy at the episode ending, so that situation will be interesting to watch over the season.

I tried to TIVO the series premiere of 'Cane' on two different occassions, and got foiled both times.  First time the electric went off, second time the show before it ran over for some reason, and I got 45 minutes of a show I didn't want to see and only 15 minutes of 'Cane'.  But now I've got the second episode of the season on the TIVO, so hopefully I'll be able to follow along without having seen the first.  I know I could probably go to the network site and see the pilot is available on the web, but I'm waiting to see if that's absolutely necessary.  I also feel compelled to say, even at 52, Jimmy Smits is totally drool-worthy.  As my daughter would say "He's so hot, you can burn cookies on him!".  Maybe I should make her watch the show as a lesson in standards for what's hot and what's not.  She already knows Michael Landon is hot (although she tends to not want to count him, just because he's dead). She knows Eric Close is hot, especially when he's in Mag 7.  Jimmy could be her third lesson.

Changing the subject, I was at the doctors office the other day thumbing through a Sports Illustrated when I came upon the Faces in the Crowd feature, where they so short bits on high school/college/amateur athletes.  I must be out of touch, but when did 'speed cubing' become a sport?

"Ryan ____, 18, is the U.S.  Rubik's Cube champ.  The senior at Rancho Vista High averaged 14.92 seconds in solving the three-by-three cube three times at the U.S. Open.  He holds the world record in one-handed cubing (average solve time: 24.03 seconds) and will compete at the world championships in Hungary."

I never could solve mine without the printed directions that eventually got passed around (well, not unless I peeled the colored tabs off and cheated LOL).  His ability to solve it so quickly is very impressive, but it's still not a sport, IMO.
